Repeat Dispensing

If you, or someone you care for, use the same medicines regularly, you may not need to get a new prescription every time you need more medicine. This means you won’t have to visit the surgery or make an appointment to see the doctor or nurse every time you need medicine but your prescriptions will be waiting for you at a pharmacy of your choice, depending on your medication this can be up to 1 year worth of scripts.

Step 1

Talk to your doctor to find out if you are suitable for this service. They will then ask you for permission to share information with the pharmacist about your treatment/medication. You will be asked to sign an agreement form. The blue copy will be kept at the surgery and you will keep the white copy.

The doctor will then start the process

Step 2

The prescriptions will be issued and marked to the chemist of your choice. If the chosen pharmacy collects from us we can put the scripts aside for collection or else you will collect from the surgery.

Step 3

Next time you need more medicine, go back to the same pharmacy that are looking after your forms and they will be able to issue your medicines.

Blister Packs

If you or a family member are having difficulty remembering to take medication or getting confused then this service provides you with your medication re-packaged into blister packs with the days of the week and morning, lunchtime, evening & night separated.
